CUSTOM WORK
I have many commissioned pieces in my career. In fact, most of my work has been commissions. I have painted stage backdrops that were 50 ft. by 20 ft. of just about everything. I have done many house and bed and breakfast portaits along with many portraits of pets. I have painted the Head of the Harbor in Cape Porpoise about thirty times in many different color schemes. I like the challenge and collaboration of commissions. When we say Purple to ten people we will come up with ten different versions of Purple. Matching color schemes and combining ideas is exciting to me.

I recently did a watercolor as a wedding present commission from my good friends Pete and Tina. They had a brilliant idea to paint the spot along the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine where the groom proposed. I did a few sketches first, submitted those and got approval. I then did a color study of the drawing and submitted for approval. The color was a little off, so I adjusted and finally I took a workshop to learn the tru form of a wave and by the end of the season I had the finished painting approved in time for the September wedding. Tina said there wasnÕt a dry eye when they presented it to the couple a few days prior to the wedding. The final result was that we had all accomplished a goal-true happiness. ItÕs so wonderful to be a part of something like that.
